Black monday worries averted — Or are they?

It appears that concerns over the housing market and consumer credit woes will not hold back the tide of consumerism we call the holiday season!

Welcome to America! It will take a hell of a lot more than some bad economy concerns to keep us from sucking the life out of our check books for Christmas.

If anything the bad economy seems to have drawn folks from the UK over here to shop with the dollar which is considerably weaker than either the pound or the Euro.

Looks like the retailers will make it at least one more year before the recession hits them.

what do you think. Should Americans be saving their dollars with the darkening economy ahead? Or should we spend more with hopes that it will recharge the dollar?

How was it? Keep watching I will consolidate news and reports here as the news rolls in. Did you get a deal? are you a merchant? did you make money - get in the black as they say.

Invest in Gold Soon or lose it all?

OK, so if you have been watching, you know I have been struggling with the decision to invest in Gold. I have decided its definitely the right thing do right now.

Let’s be honest. The dollar is weak and getting worse, demand for gold is growing faster than supply, and historically, Gold has always grown in price relative to oil. This means that very soon the price of Gold should triple just like the price of oil has.

I am suggesting that Gold is the right investment to make for right now. I am trading gold at this marketplace. Anyone can simply log in and create a free trading account and then purchase gold just like trading stock. I have never had gold in my portfolio, but I think now is the time.

It might be worth checking out.

Is the middle class dying away?

In the previous post I referred to an article. Talking about consumers purchasing small ticket luxury items, the reporter wrote this:

“The middle market guy is gone,” said Steve Greenberg, president of IMG Jewelry, a jewelry store near Cleveland. “The guy who had $500 to $1,000 to spend is gone. He’s paying for gas and food.”

Ok, now That’s frightening. No wonder our economy seems to be a flailing dead duck, (like our leader). For years the American economy has depended upon the middle class consumer. Well my friends those days may be over. If the middle class American consumer has been reduced to concerning himself with gas and food, then we are in the deep weeds. No Middle class means no one to prop up the poor or service the rich.

What will the rich ever do??

Is Gold really the Future?

gold-future.jpgI have always heard the old bears talk about the future of the economy. At a bank I worked in we had a handful of folks who actually kept gold bars in their safe boxes.

I ran across this story that makes you wonder.

Jewelry retailers face gold price surge

With the dow dropping over a hundred points a day lately I am thinking that old gold rope necklace i had in the late eighties is looking like the most valuable commodity I have right now.

Weigh in, what do you think? Gold or Not?

Looks like they might have a leg up on the American Middle class.

Credit Repair — fix your credit or waste money?

There are many reputable companies out there working to help Americans fix their credit problems. Among these you will find what we will call wolves in sheeps clothing. These are the old guys in their underwear sitting in their momma’s basement ripping you off.

I have worked with a bunch of both so I know mostly who to steer you toward. If you have credit problems there is free help and there is legal counsel. For some excellent free help I typically recommend care one as a first option. These guys are good to work with and usually very educated about their job. They will take your hand and walk you through getting out of debt. They help you haggle with the Credit Card Companies and they even help you work out a budget.

Another good option is legal help. Sometimes you need more than counseling. You need counsel. The folks over at ovation have put together an excellent program. they have tons of resources to help you pay down debt and they will go to bat for you when the rubber hits the road.

The bottom line is that you need to pay careful attention to who you work with. Check them out. If you find someone you think might work for you, come back over here. Post a comment and ask. Chances are really good I have heard of them, and I would love to help you find the right people to help you with your credit problems.
